About Manuscript Submissions
The Texas A&M Undergraduate Journal of Law & Society (TAMUJLS) is a student-run academic journal on campus housed as part of Undergraduate Research (UGR). We publish undergraduate student research in the areas of law, government and public policy. We are currently accepting article submissions for our second journal issue!
While we accept articles from every discipline and on any topic, we require that articles relate to the law, government, or public policy. Competitive manuscripts will contain original research, be well constructed, and innovative in their argumentation.
Submissions will be evaluated through a double-blind review process conducted by the TAMUJLS editors and faculty subject matter experts.
If selected, accepted manuscripts will undergo an editing process in which authors will work closely with TAMUJLS editors to refine the work and prepare it for publication. They will then be edited by our staff.
Students must be current undergraduates or recent graduates (within one year of their graduation) to submit articles for consideration.
Manuscript Requirements
- Manuscripts must include a 100-250 word abstract.
- Manuscripts must be between 3,000 and 8,000 words.
- Manuscripts can be papers written for undergraduate classes (including directed studies and research sections) and/or for a research project completed as an undergraduate.
- Note: Regardless of the context in which the paper was produced, approval must be solicited from the overseeing faculty member. If a class paper, it would be the professor who taught the class. If a research project, it would be the professor who advised you in your work.
- Manuscripts should use Chicago Manual of Style.
